#selfmade

We've got a lot of self-made business folks in our gym and I like it. Chris and his wife started a successful honey-sweetened cookie and bar company WB Kitchen, Chas opened a coffee shop with his sisters the Bean Cycle, Theresa started her massage therapy practice Deeply Kneaded Massage and quite a few more. I cannot call myself self-made, because the Army took care of me for such a long time, ensuring I had 3 hots and a cot for all of the 90s into 2005. But there are things that I have that are all mine: mad rope climb skills, some artistic ability, and showmanship during karaoke nights.

Your journey in CrossFit is an opportunity to make yourself into something different. Triathletes turn themselves into weightlifters, football players into gymnasts, weak people turn into strong people. In this sense, you're all self-made. Yes, we set you up with the instruction and equipment, but you always have to bring the desire. Because at the end of the day, I cannot make you do anything. Only you can make yourself into something better, stronger, faster, lighter. Spend extra time before and after the WOD working on skills, technique and mobility.
