Tell us about yourself.
So hey I'm Steve, 32. Born in Virginia. A navy brat and finished high school in 2002. I joined the marines right after. While in the Marine Corps. I served two tours in Iraq as tank commander. After the Marines, I became a diesel mechanic and worked for the Beaver Creek Ski Resort for 7 years, where I found my two passions of Rugby and Dirt Biking!! Shortly after, I also discovered CrossFit. I moved down to Fort Collins to pursue a career as a helicopter pilot. I graduated Aims Community College with an Associates in Science and my pilot's license. I now currently work at the Fort Collins/Loveland Airport as a flight instructor...and mechanic much of the time. And I have a dog...I love my dog...my dog is Fran!

Why do you CrossFit?
I originally started doing CrossFit the winters between rugby and dirt biking so I could stay in shape for the activities and sports I wanted to do. I continued because it's awesome and I love it! I found that it helped me improve my hard hitting and dynamic sport of Rugby by improving my stamina and preventing injuries. I recently discovered the competitive side of CrossFit and believe I have found my third passion!

What makes Choice City so special?
OMG it's the best! I originally came to Choice City because I drove by it every day on my way home from work. Within a few short weeks, I discovered what a special place it is. At the first gym that I ever went to, from the first class on, they didn't care about form or movement, they just cared about numbers and speed. I realized quickly that at Choice City that coach Michael's number one concern was form. After being impressed by the higher level of coaching, I was comforted by the supportive and encouraging community I found here. I can't imagine being anywhere else!
