What is your goal for the day? Do you make daily goals? 
I started writing my daily goal on a whiteboard while I brush my teeth each morning so I can begin my day with my thoughts focused on what needs to be accomplished for the day! To be honest...some days the board literally reads...Stay positive! The goal doesn't need to be a specific task or a large project. It can just be...Get through this day without punching people! That's a great goal! And very easy to gauge your success! Maybe take a moment this morning or tomorrow AM to write yourself a little note and see how that changes your feelings about control of your life and your goals!
