Yin means "shady side" and Yang mean "sunny side." YinYang is two halves that create a whole! Tao Te Ching illustrated Tijitu or YinYang in the following way: 

When people see things as beautiful,
ugliness is created.
When people see things as good,
evil is created.

Being and non-being produce each other.
Difficult and easy complement each other.
Long and short define each other.
High and low oppose each other.
Fore and aft follow each other.

Balance is important in all things even at the gym! Quad dominant athletes struggle with posterior chain activation, the front and back of the body need to be equal and working together for a stable and strong body. If you're top is super bendy flexy but your bottom half is not, your body is our of balance. Always seek equality on both side of everything!
