180419 - Soapbox Thursday

Soapbox time.
I overheard someone talking about they had such a "rad weekend" and really "drank her face off" and then how they used a friend's card to get into a CycleBar class the other day and they felt like it eased the negative nature of her actions. As if it works like throwing a bucket of water onto your campfire. She believed the single class negated the action of the sh*tshow of her weekend.

That’s not how this works. That’s not how any of this works.
Everything is everything.

Slapping a salad into your terrible food choices doesn't make it better.
Drinking extra water one day doesn't overcome the other crap you ingested over the weekend and on the daily. Likewise, working out once in a while is not going to wipe out the crappy life decisions you've made in the last 72 hours.

Fitness is not an arithmetic proposition.

It's an open-ended, indefinite practice. You must work at it every day. Every day I said. The longer you work at it, the better you are. Your goals and challenges may change, but your desire to keep out of the old folks' home shouldn't. You can't just drop into a class and be all good. Just like you can't eat a salad and be all good.
