191216 - Motivation Monday - Find Discipline where Motivation Lacks!

Big congrats to all of our competitors this weekend and BIG thank you to all of our cheerleaders! Such a fun weekend with the fit fam! :)

Discipline is action or inaction that is regulated to be in accordance with a particular system of governance. Discipline is commonly applied to regulating human and animal behavior. In the academic and professional worlds a discipline is a specific branch of knowledge, learning or practice.

Motivation is the experience of desire or aversion…You want something, or want to avoid or escape something. As such, motivation has both an objective side – a goal or thing you aspire to – and an internal or subjective aspect: it is you that wants the thing.

I hear all the time in the gym that people wish they could have more motivation to do things…I think that’s not true! Per the above descriptions of the words, we probably are overflowing with motivation! We “want” all of the things and aspire to do so much! But that’s where we are lacking…the actual go-get-it behavior that follows the motivation. That’s called discipline!! So if you think, know, or want to do something…a plan needs to be implemented so you don’t miss out on the opportunity to actually obtain that thing!
