201022 - Comparison

“ Comparison is the thief of joy.”

I think looking back to see your progress based on former results in the last year or two is important to find joy in the journey BUT if comparing yourself to your former self just makes you sad…. STOP! Whether it be from an injury or a fitness hiatus or any other life situation, your personal record from four or five years ago when you were crushing the gym hard and eating right and drinking water and taking care of yourself shouldn’t be used to determine how well you’re doing right now. And just like you would not compare yourself to other people, that four years ago person is a completely different person than who are you are now and shouldn’t be compared to you. Give yourself some grace find joy in the journey instead of stealing it with comparison.
