#resolute

Don't make resolutions. Have resolve. Be resolute.
Normally I get on the "resolutions don't work" bandwagon and poo-poo people's Julian-based attempts at self improvement, but this year I'm taking a different tack. Let's talk about being resolute.

res·o·lute
ˈrezəˌlo͞ot
adjective
admirably purposeful, determined, and unwavering.
”she was resolute and unswerving”
— Google

This purpose and unwavering determination will not be found while you are talked into a contract at 24 Hour Fitness because you decided today that you should "get in shape." Neither will it be found if you resolve to "eat better" without a plan or "lose weight" when what you really mean is lean out.

It will happen when and if you decide it will happen. One of the ways we can help it happen is through our comprehensive Ramp Up (click to sign up) where we show you our PURPOSE: Teach you correct biomechanics, explain how to prevent injury and address prior injuries, and give you nutrition and movement tools that will last a lifetime and continually challenge you through introducing new movements.

Once you've completed Ramp Up, you can train in any of our 8 class times per day and participate in one of the many community events we have throughout the year. You sign up online and it serves as "an appointment to get fit" and a reminder to stay DETERMINED and stay the course.

From us you can expect UNWAVERING support. We'll coach and motivate you and encourage you to continuously challenge yourself, while we also help you to filter out the BS.

With all of those things, you can be the fittest you've ever been. Regardless of age or athletic background.

What we do here is life-changing. It’s like peeking behind the curtain in Oz and realizing that what you’ve thought and what you’ve been told is not a lie per se, but multiple agendas from multiple agencies that thrive on your ignorance and don’t have your best interests in mind.

Set goals. Enter an obstacle course race, make a plan to hike a fourteener, take up skate skiing. While you set these goals, make a plan to execute them. We can help.

Best of luck on your goals for 2015. Remember, don't make a resolution to lose weight. Make a plan and be resolute in your journey to lifelong fitness.
