171016 - Motivation Monday - Rx is a prescription (but it might not be yours)!
Rx is the "prescribed" version of the workout. With typical prescriptions from your doctor, it's not just the type of medicine that matters, it's also the timing and the dosage. There might be instances where you have questioned your doctor's recommendation for your meds but for the most part, you trust what they give you and the amount they say you need. You wouldn't just take a much higher dosage because you "think" that's better for you, despite everything your doctor told you about what they prescribed you. Maybe nothing bad will happen OR the side effects could be highly detrimental...so why take the risk?
When one of your coaches tells you that Rx might not be good for you today, we have your best interest in mind and the education/experience to make those suggestions. If we know that the Rx standards won't be met at a heavier weight or you might get injured, then we will highly recommend that you back off a bit. Rx'ing workouts is fun and a great goal to have, but don't overlook the coaches prescription for YOU instead of focusing on the generalized and sometimes arbitrary numbers on the board.
WOD
Front Squat Medley (from the floor)
Not timed
As many reps as possible of front squat of:
185/135 then as many reps as possible of front squat of:
155/115 then as many reps as possible of front squat of:
135/95
If you plan on doing the prescribed weights, you must be able to clean them. If you cannot, scale ALL the weights appropriately IE my max clean is 135, then my weights will be 135, 115, 95
If my max clean is 100, then my weights are 95/75/55 etc.
