171107 - Tips Tuesday - HYDRATE!

It's winter time and that means most of you are probably dehydrated! In the summer time, we guzzle water due to the heat so it's important to make a conscious effort during the colder months to get that water on board! When your body is desperate for water, lots of bad stuff happens: 

  • You feel tired because water is an energy source in the body
  • Your blood pressure will increase because your blood gets thicker therefore creating a higher resistance to the flow.
  • Your digestive system won't work properly because it requires water to operate
  • Your body won't be able to regulate temperature due to lack of sweat
  • Your brain will be foggy because water supplies the brain with the essential energy, maintains nerve signals, provides nutrients and removes toxins
  • You'll have joint pain due to lack of lubrication on the joints
  • You will look old because dehydrated skin gets wrinkled and dry

    If some of you are having aches and pains and muscle soreness, perhaps check on that water intake! You might find that with better hydration, you'll feel a ton better!
