Check out this happy girl! She's incredibly passionate about her friends and family. Her drive to do things well shows in her profession and her performance at the gym! Her job at CSU gives her the opportunity to share her people skills and helping heart with the community. She's made huge strides in her skills and weightlifting (especially Olympic which she loves) in the time that she's been with us! We're lucky to have this lady around!
Tell us about yourself:
I am a Colorado native, born in Westminster, CO. I have one older sister, and am “Aunt B” to two beautiful nieces, Ily (2 ½) and Pruitt (8 months). I graduated from CSU in 2010 with a degree in Business, and recently finished a graduate certificate program in Student Affairs in Higher Education. I have worked for CSU for the last 5-ish years. My current role is as a fundraiser for high impact student programs, services, and scholarships…basically anything to do with a student’s success and experience outside of the classroom!
Why do you CrossFit?
I blame Kate Cooper! Back when we worked together at the Alumni Association, Kate talked about CrossFit all the time and harassed me into attending a Ladies’ Night. After a lot of resistance (because I knew I would be hooked), I accepted her invitation and of course loved it. After growing up a dancer and running for a couple of years, I needed to switch things up and find an interest/passion again. I love the variety of it all and the tangible progress you can see and feel.
What makes Choice City so special?
*Warning–this is going to get sappy because I can’t say enough good things about this place! Choice City CrossFit is special because of the coaches and the community. Coach Michael has the remarkable ability to breakdown any movement into easy-to-understand, bite-sized pieces, which makes a world of difference to athletes of all ability levels. He also cares a lot about each athlete inside and outside of the gym. The experience and enthusiasm of the coaching staff is unparalleled, and the community of Choice City is incredible. The constant encouragement, cheers, and high fives for every person’s abilities and PRs makes for a welcoming and addicting environment. The people of Choice City have gone from strangers, to fellow athletes, to friends, and now to what I consider family.
