Tell us about yourself:
Where to start.... I almost didn't exist! My parents struggled to conceive and finally after years of infertility treatments, had a G.I.F.T. procedure with an anonymous donor and TADA! Here I am. Born into an Air Force family, I moved all over. Colorado Springs is my home town, but I don't remember it much. My parents split and my mom remarried to THE COOLEST STEP DAD EVER and they settled in Boulder for a while before moving up to The Fort when I was a wee little 7th grader. Graduated from RMHS (Technically class of '07 but I finished early in winter of '06). Dabbled at CSU before deciding to pursue a MT Certificate with The Healing Arts Institute. Worked for The City for 9 years before moving to The Group Real Estate, where I am now an Escrow Officer. I'm coming up on my 5 year anniversary of teaching Pole Dance Fitness at Vertical Fusion FoCo and Boulder. My hobbies include my PRECIOUS Corgi, Shooter and her brofur Keeran, Pole Dance, Pilates, rock climbing, hiking, fishing, CrossFit, anything active basically! I'm allergic to everything, have never been stung by a bee or broken a bone or gotten the chicken pox (yes I got the shot!). Show me a corgi photo/gif/video and we will be BFFs for life.
Why do you CrossFit?
Many of my favorite Pole Dance Pros started doing CrossFit to cross train. I competed in a Pole Comp last October and was looking for something to up my game, I finally decided to give CF a try. I immediately noticed a difference in all aspects of pole. My flexibility got better, my stamina went from above average to super hero level, I was mentally more ready to take on scarier moves because I was getting out of my head more, and the CrossFit community is second to none. I crossfit because I like the way my body feels when I have been working hard in the gym, and I like it even more when I notice a difference in pole.
What makes Choice City so special?
It's been said time and time again, but it's the people. I firmly believe that the energy you put out will attract that same energy you pull in. Owner/Head coach Michael wants everyone to be safe and have fun, and his fellow coaches Lauren and Bri foster that same environment. They work SO HARD to keep everyone safe, we practice form every session, all while encouraging us to have a good time. In doing that, they attract athletes who want to take care of themselves safely, while having fun doing it. All of that positive, fun, caring energy in one gym makes for a hell of a fun time and a great support group. My CCCF friends have gotten me through some times that I don't even think they realized they were helping me through. Thanks CCCF!
