170815 - Tips Tuesday - Burpees

Let's all admit it....burpees SUCK! Here are some pro tips to help make these a teeny tiny bit better: 

1.) Keep it tight! 
Most of us do floppies but you want to make sure that you're tight enough to make getting to the ground and pressing up off of it, as efficient as possible! If you look like you're going into cobra position everytime, try and squeeze that belly a bit more! 

2.) Find your pace! 
Just keep moving, just keep moving, just keep moving! Start out slow and find a pace that you can maintain without having to take long breaks. Remember the turtle won the race! 

3.) Widen your stance! 
Make the distance your limbs must travel as short as possible! When you spread your legs out, they don't need to shoot back as far or come back under your body as far. 

4.) Breathe! 
Find a pattern of breathing that helps you stay in the rhythm and pace that you know is sustainable for you (see #2). If you breathe at the top while your jumping and on the ground when your laid flat, your lungs are at their largest and will able to consume more air!
