“No, no. I do not have an addiction to suffering. I have an addiction to what the product of suffering is." Mat Fraser (Fittest Man in the World two years in a row.)
During the Spartan Beast Race this weekend, we 13 athletes conquer the whole course on Saturday plus we also had 3 CrossFit Kids athletes do the Kids Spartan and Spartan Sprint on Sunday. They all suffered through tons of running, freezing water, high walls, uphill rocky trails in the woods, and high climbs but no one quit. When you get that medal placed over your shoulders at the finish line and you can claim your victory, it's all worth it. You suffered and endured but not for the sake of suffering or enduring, it was all for the end product of pride and accomplishment.
Yes, we suffer through workouts, some workouts more than others, but we do it to find out what we are capable of and beat our goals. Your goal could be pull-ups, to run faster, be competitive, or just plain be fit! All of that suffering makes it worth it when you reach it. Find your suffering today, endure, and push through to earn your product.
