1) Background info:
My name is Emily Davidson, I'm genuinely honored to be CCCF's October Member of the Month and am happy to say with no uncertainty that I wanted this badly and put the work in to get it! I am an OG Fort Collins resident and grew up happily here with my familia. I played almost all the sports, but mainly focused on soccer and played collegiately for The University of Denver. I graduated with a BS in Psychology and Pre-Medicine and love love love learning. Life took me overseas where I lived in Sweden for a year before applying to Graduate School at Uppsala University, which is one of the oldest Universities in the world! I was accepted (woohoo!) and got my Masters Degree in International Public Health. I lived in Sweden for three years before coming back stateside and beginning my CCCF adventures. Other fun facts: I'm a twin. I've lived in Spain, Sweden, Vietnam and Cambodia. I love lamp. And Lo. I've been to 36 countries and have learned that happiness is where you make it. Tyler and Clarence are my cats and spirit animals, and I fucking love the shit out of them. They also wear flannels and the occasional gold chain. I believe in snail mail, blanket forts, two-armed hugs, and childlike excitement and immaturity. Wieners. Life's a Buch Kombucha is something I can't live without. Birds are the shit. I've recently started making shadow boxes, so if you find any deceased things please gimme gimme gimme!
2) Why CrossFit?
Crossfit is the only workout that pushes me every day, regardless of workout or movements. I've always been active and involved in sports of some kind, but I'm in the best shape of my life because of CrossFit. It's an added benefit that Choice City is an exercise for the soul, as I'm blessed to be able to come work hard with the best people.
3) What makes CCCF so special?
What doesn't make CCCF so special? It is a space filled with genuine, kind people who are trying to better themselves and the world around them. It's a place of support, growth, friendship and macaroons. CCCF changed my life- it will always be one of the best parts of me
4) Favorite movements: Lunges, thrusters, rowing;
Least favorite movements: anything overhead (squats, lunges, etc) and push-ups
5) Favorite workout:
Goodness. Doing Murph for the first time this year was definitely memorable! Such happy death
6) Gym and life goal?
My gym and life goal are the same- to be consistent and show up. Exercise is such a big part of my mental and physical health, and is a catalyst for success in showing up for myself in my life outside the gym. Go me!
