170728 - FYF - A Nutrition Dressing-down.
You are willing to come to the gym on a regular basis.
You're willing to subject yourself to some pretty hard workouts and challenging tests.
You're willing to come work out when it's 100 degrees out.
You should be willing to eat better.
It's easily the quickest way to your goals. Even faster than lifting heavy or running fast.
Eat real food. Eat meat, veggies, fruits and some kind of fat like avocado/guacamole, use tallow or lard or ghee to cook. If you're not eating meat in decent amounts, you're likely not getting enough protein. If you drink your calories in beer, cider, liquor, energy drinks etc., it's not like you're not also eating lots of calories in food. Don't waste them. Not yet.
When you get the body of your dreams, you can drink beer all you want.
In the meantime, if you want your beer, eat dense vegetable carbs. If you're eating lots of sweet potato/yams, white potato, rice, pasta, bread, sweet squashes or a lot of fruit, don't add liquid calories on top of it. There's always a cost.
Lots of you don't eat enough. Sure, you can eat a 20 piece Chik Fil A nuggets because it's salty and sweet, but you won't eat a chicken breast, asparagus and butter. Eat real food. You can't overeat real food. You can overeat deep-fried chicken parts though.
Do yourself a favor and quit throwing your hard work down the toilet and clean up your nutrition. If you're unsure of where to start, all of your coaching staff is here to help.
