151211 - CrossFit, SS | Margin of Error

I often tell people that the margin of error on a press is + or - 1 pound. This may or may not be scientifically true, but anyone who's tried (and failed) to press a weight overhead without using their hips knows, that ounces can make or break that lift.
The margin for error in deadlifting is dramatically different. It can be + or - 5 lbs. Same with a back squat.

The margin for error in life is huge

You can make mistakes, sometimes grand, painful mistakes and come back.
I've made lots of mistakes in my life. I've made decisions that probably changed the course of my life for bad. However, those mistakes have made me who I am and given me the life I have today.
It's not perfect. Who couldn't use an extra million dollars, or a little bit of prestige or fame?
But it's my life. It's a pretty decent life surrounded by pretty decent people.
The point is, no matter what you've done, you can always come back. You margin for error is infinite. Barring any evil-doing of course.
It can be missing a lot of training, or falling off the wagon and getting a little too drunk, or making less than ideal dietary choices, regardless of what it is, you can always come back. Yeah, you might need to eat a little crow, swallow your pride and possibly admit that you were wrong, but your life is resilient. Your singular choices do not have to be permanent.

Weightlifting is a game of ounces, running is a game of seconds, burpees are a game of suffering, life is a game of time.

Play hard until the clock runs out because your margin of error is infinite.
