Here are three QUICK and EASY tips on how to improve your performance and overall CrossFit experience: (If you haven’t figured it out yet, I love making and reading lists. It’s kind of my thing!)

Warm-Up and mobilize more!

We write warm-ups to contain some form of cardio to get the blood flowing and then a few other activities that will get the joints and muscles ready for the WOD along with emphasizing movements that will be found within the workout. HOWEVER, you need to be an advocate for you own body by mobilizing and warming up in ways that will make you safe and successful. If you don’t know what that might look like, just ask!

Eat and drink more!
When people approach us about nutrition, our first question is typically “How much are you eating?” The answer usually falls into the NOT ENOUGH category. I have found that when I am eating clean (Mostly meat, veggies, and healthy fats), there is no way to overeat! Make sure you are fueling your body with the right stuff and tons of it. That includes water! Make sure you are getting plenty of liquids throughout the day!! If you don’t know what to eat or how much water to drink, just ask!

Sleep and rest more!
Sleep is a crucial part of your recovery. When the body goes into REM sleep, it produces then circulates human growth hormone which assists in rebuilding muscle and other tissues! If you’re not get RESTFUL sleep, the body struggles to make this happen along with other body functions that help with your overall physical and mental well-being. Make sure the room is completely dark, cool in temperature, and free of stressors like technology or work. Need more advice on the nightly snooze, just ask!
