Last week’s chalk board question was “What is your BIGGEST CrossFit accomplishment SO FAR?” As I heard athletes ponder this query, I sensed a struggle. Some people even told me they couldn’t think of one! WHAT!? Let’s confront this.

CrossFit is tough. Each day you walk through the CCCF threshold, you’ve accomplished something magnificent. In a world where doing “nothing” is SOOOO much easier than doing “something” …you CHOSE to do something HARD! You’ve decided that easy is NOT good enough. Can we all agree that getting your butt to the box is always an accomplishment? OKAY! Moving on.

Next let’s consider the fact that most adults can’t even fathom jumping 20” OR getting their chin over a bar OR running 2 miles OR doing more than one burpee OR getting a jump rope to pass under them twice in one hop. I’ve witnessed our hardworking athletes do more than most people can image doing in their adulthood. Yet, I feel that those same athletes don’t comprehend the magnitude of their progress because we are accomplishing so much ALL THE TIME! With every single pound added to your weightlifting PR and each skill progression mastered, YOU are making accomplishments.

“ONLY” is a terrible word in CrossFit Land.
 “I ONLY got 5 rounds.”
“I ONLY lifted 165 lbs.”
“I ONLY did scaled.”
Nothing we do deserves “ONLY.” It’s more like “HELL YEAH I got 5 freakin’ rounds and BOO YAH I lifted more than my body weight and BOM DIGGITY I killed that scaled workout!” If you did your best and gave your all, be PROUD! Own it! Don’t diminish your accomplishments by categorizing it as an “ONLY.” Focus on the amazing things your body can do and has done! With that mindset, you could have filled that chalk board all by yourself! ☺

So go forth my fit friends and find those successes in your daily work because BOY OH BOY, it is hard work!
