Pull-Up Progressions have returned so I wanted to do a PSA called “Trust the Process”

Your fitness journey is meticulously programmed by the highly experienced and well educated, Coach Michael. Many people don’t realize that he lays out the plans for your development as an athlete weeks and sometimes months in advance. This road map to your success will get you from point A to point B if you are willing to follow it. This process is visible on the whiteboards and perpetuated daily by the effort of the coaching staff and plenty of behind the scenes work also goes into making sure that everything we do at our gym is productively and realistically getting people to that point B.

So, you might be thinking “Alright Coach Lauren, I’ll bite, what can I do as an athlete to better trust in the process?” I’m SO glad you asked! Here are a couple of tips for ya:

-Put in all of the non-glamorous and time-consuming effort during the planned progressions or strength work. -Come in on those days when you would rather not, since the WOD includes your least fav movement. -Listen to your coaches when they encourage you to focus on something or try something different. -Mobilize before AND after the workout to bring on AND solidify the best results. -Communicate with coaching staff so they can better serve your individual needs. In general, you can assume that the process will always be leading you toward acquiring a new skill, gaining strength, or getting faster. As I said above, this month the entire fit family is in the process of getting or improving their pull-up. The journey to get there is well planned out for you. Please don’t try and rush this process because it will most likely end up in frustration, injury, or failing to meet the end goal. Enjoy the progressions and take the time to do them. Know yourself and make sure you are working on the level that will most benefit you. Plenty of people did that exact thing three months ago and are now using their awesome new found pull-up skillz in workouts!!! Take a breath, give it time, give it effort, trust your coach, and trust the process.
